State-of-Art Review of Trends in Optimization of Electro-Discharge Machining

Electro-discharge machining is mainly used in non-traditional machining processes in die-making industries. While machining hard and conductive materials using EDM, it is important to select the correct parameters, namely pulse current, voltage, on and off time, peak current, etc. In light of the experimental study, modeling, simulation, and theoretical studies, many researchers have analysed the performance of EDM. This paper reviews some of the unique works of various authors. Furthermore, we have reviewed the relevant lectures on performance parameters and measures, namely Material Removal Rate, Electric Wear Resistance, Tool wear rate, etc. This paper consists of works of various scientists of past years (2007-2022). This review helps the futuristic way to develop systems for better optimization of Electro-discharge machining.
