EFFICIENT PHOTOCATALYST AS NI-DOPED ZNO: SYNTHESIS, PHYSICOCHEMICAL TECHNIQUES AND TESTING OF PHOTOSTABILITY
Highly crystalline ZnO and Ni-doped ZnO were synthesized by a simple precipitation followed by thermal decomposition of carbonates. The Ni doped ZnO catalyst shows an absorption threshold extended into the visible region and also has smaller particle size compared to ZnO.Ni-doped ZnO have higher activity in sunlight than the undoped ZnO. The overall results of this study show that the Ni-doped ZnO is an efficient photocatalyst for the degradation of Malachite green from aqueous solution. It could also be applied for treatment of other organic dyes.
