RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-ESTEEM AND ANXIETY AMONG EARLY ADULTS

Abstract :
The present aim of the study is to find relationship between anxiety and self-esteem among adults; nowadays lots of adults have anxiety issues. In this study, how anxiety affects the self esteem and vice versa. 250 samples are collected using Convenient Sampling method. Tools used for this current study is The Rosenberg self-esteem scale presented high rating in reliability areas, internal consistency was 0.77, minimum co-efficient of reproducibility was at least 0.99( Rosenberg 1965) and Cronbach’s alpha for various samples are in the range of 0.77to 0.88( Rosenberg 1986). & Becks Anxiety inventory, (BAI), (1993), Internal consistency for the BAI = (Cronbach’s α=0.92) Test-retest reliability (1 week) for the BAI = 0.75 (Beck, Epstein, Brown, & Steer, 1988). The BAI was moderately correlated with the revised Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (.51), and mildly correlated with the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (.25) (Beck et al., 1988). Data were analyzed Using Kolmogorov – Smirnov test, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation, Independent Sample T-test.
