STUDIES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BINARY COMPLEX BETWEEN A POLYMER AND DEXTRIN IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS USING ACOUSTICS AND SPECTROSCOPY
At three distinct temperatures —303, 313 and 323 K—the ultrasonic velocity, density, and viscosity of mixes of poly ethylene glycol (PEG) and dextrins—Maltodextrin (MD), -Cyclodextrin (-CD), and amylose—in different concentration ranges are measured. Emulsifying agents, soaps, detergents, ointments, plasticizers, etc. are all made with PEG. Dextrins are employed in the manufacture of wet, dry, and immediately compressible tablets for pharmaceutical usage as a tablet disintegrating agent and as an excipient. Other related acoustical parameters from the experimental data have been assessed, including adiabatic compressibility (ρ), intermolecular free length (Lf), internal pressure (pi), Rao's constant (Ra), relaxation time (t), acoustical impedance (Za), absorption coefficient (/f2), free volume (Vf), and cohesive energy (CE).To shed light on the, each of these characteristics has been explored independently.
